At Eastlight Community Homes, we’re committed to ensuring our 14,000 homes are safe, compliant, and well-maintained for our residents. We’re now looking for a skilled and motivated Contracts Manager to join our Compliance & Estates team – someone who’s passionate about high-quality service and wants to play a key role in protecting our residents.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead on contracts that make a genuine impact, with a particular focus on fire safety and asbestos management. Why join us?
* Play a central role in delivering life-safety compliance across our homes.
* Be part of a forward-thinking housing association committed to safety, innovation, and customer care.
* Take ownership of your contracts, with opportunities to influence and improve the way we work.
* Access excellent training and support to grow your expertise in compliance and contract management.
What you’ll be doing
* Managing contracts for fire safety systems (alarms, emergency lighting, fire doors) and asbestos surveys, removals, and re-inspections.
* Monitoring contractor performance to make sure works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
* Leading contract reviews, KPIs, and commercial negotiations to get the best outcomes for residents.
* Ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, including fire safety, asbestos, and building safety legislation.
* Supporting audits, health & safety inspections, and driving continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for
You’ll already have experience managing compliance-related contracts, ideally within housing, property, or a similar environment. Knowledge of fire safety or asbestos compliance is a bonus, but we’ll support you to develop further in these areas.
You’ll also bring
* Strong knowledge of legislation such as the Fire Safety Order, Fire Safety Act, Control of Asbestos Regulations, and Building Safety Act.
* Proven skills in contractor management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement.
* Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
* A proactive, solution-focused mindset and the ability to make evidence-based decisions.
Desirable qualifications (not essential)
* NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety
* Asbestos Duty to Manage
* Contract management qualification (e.g., World Commerce & Contracting)
To demonstrate our commitment to you, we have developed a sector leading total rewards package:
