Care Assistant Day – Milford Lodge
We are looking for a Care Assistant to provide residents with a detailed care plan and assist with all aspects of personal care during the day. The role ensures residents maintain independence and dignity, using a person‑centred approach.
Rate of Pay
* Weekdays: £12.50
* Weekends: £12.70
Contract Type: Full Time
Contract Hours: 36 Hours
Location: Hitchin – Milford Lodge
Duties and Responsibilities
* Work in line with the company culture and ethos, promoting Commitment, Connection and Compassion.
* Ensure that the Mobile Care Monitoring (MCM) device is used effectively.
* Support residents with all aspects of personal care whilst maintaining independence, ensuring privacy and respect.
* Ensure residents are dressed appropriately and equipped with their aids (dentures, hearing aids, walking frames, etc.).
* Report any clothing that requires repair or is beyond repair to housekeeping or a family member.
* Help serve meals, prepare and clear the dining area.
* Assist residents with meals in a dignified and respectful manner, maintaining a pleasant and calm atmosphere.
* Observe and report any physical, physiological or emotional changes to the senior team.
* Identify and address residents’ social, emotional and cultural needs and participate in social and recreational activities.
* Support residents to use the environment to its full potential, including outdoor areas, considering mobility needs.
* Serve as the keyworker relative to each resident’s care home guidelines.
* Make and serve refreshments as required.
* Maintain bedroom standards (bed making, tidying drawers, emptying bins).
* Promote good housekeeping throughout the home.
* Clean toilets and showers in compliance with infection control guidelines.
* Maintain awareness of medication procedures.
* Distribute clean clothing and linen to appropriate residents and areas.
* Uphold a clear understanding of the B&M Care Quality Management System policies and procedures.
* Produce legible and accurate documentation in relation to care plans and the MCM system.
* Participate in and contribute to reviews and assessments.
* Assist senior staff with the admission of new residents, creating a welcoming atmosphere for residents, relatives and friends.
* Attend all training sessions, supervisions and appraisals.
* Attend and contribute to all handovers and staff meetings, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
