£32,455 - £45,260 per annum – Teacher Training Provided

36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

At Clarus Education, we are working with an FE College who are seeking to appoint a Chef for Professional Cookery Lecturer based in Hayes.

We are seeking a full time Lecturer to join the Cookery & Hospitality team, based in Hayes. You would teach across a variety of Hospitality programmes including VRQs/NVQs in Professional Cookery from Level 1 to Level 3, and Apprenticeship Standards – Level 2 Production Chef, Level 2 Commis Chef and Level 3 Chef De Partie. The section has a restaurant (Revisco) that is open to the general public.

You will need to be qualified to Level 3 in Catering/Cookery, with experience of teaching and in the subject area and experience of being a Chef in the Catering/Hospitality industry. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and inspire young learners aged 16-18. You will either possess or be willing to obtain a Level 5 teaching qualification, which the College will support financially in full over the two-year period of the course.

Person Specification:

Qualifications

1. Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Catering/Hospitality
2. Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (DET or equivalent) or willingness and ability to work towards a Level 5 FE teaching qualification, supported by the College
3. Assessor and Verifier awards or willing to achieve

Knowledge and Experience

4. Experience of working in the Catering/Hospitality industry including experience of being a Chef
5. Up to date knowledge of developments and trends within the Catering and Hospital sector
6. Teaching and assessing experience in the area of Catering and Hospitality

Other Skills

7. The ability to enthuse and inspire students
8. Good classroom practice
9. Good communication skills, written and verbal
10. Good interpersonal skills
11. Good IT skills
12. Using IT within the curriculum
13. Tutoring experience
14. Self motivation
15. Commitment to Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding in an education environment
16. Commitment to learners and learner achievement
17. Commitment to implementing College compliance procedures and other policies
18. Evidence of continuous professional development
