We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician Higher Level Medicines Management and Procurement who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

The Pharmacy department is looking to recruit an experienced pharmacy technician who wants to extend their knowledge and skills, while working as a Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician on the wards, and supporting the Purchasing team with procurement of medicines.
You must be an Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician or working towards it. You will have an enthusiastic approach to education and training, multidisciplinary team working and a passion for frontline patient care. Full training will be provided on medicines reconciliation and other in house procedures.

Main duties of the job
To participate and assist in the development of the medicines management process on designated wards within the hospital.
To train other technicians, pharmacists, nursing staff and other healthcare professionals in the medicines management process.
To carry out general dispensing, drug distribution and associated pharmaceutical duties for the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust.
You will help with the training of technicians, pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians, pre-registration pharmacists and assistants, junior pharmacists, nursing staff and other health care professionals in the medicines management process.
To act as an NVQ assessor for Pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support workers (if appropriate)
To act as an accredited final checker in the dispensary and on designated wards.

Qualifications/Training
Essential criteria
* NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent and BTEC in Pharmaceutical science or equivalent
* Registered with GPhC as a technician
* Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT)
* Current, relevant knowledge of hospital pharmacy procedures acquired though training, experience and knowledge
* An accreditation in Medicines Management
Desirable criteria
* National certificate in Medicines Management
Previous Experience
Essential criteria
* Appropriate post qualification hospital experience
* Achievement of Knowledge Skills Framework for band 4 post
* bility to work within clearly defined occupational polices and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
* Proven ability to manage own workload and the workload of others, delegating supervision activities as appropriate
* Knowledge and experience of recording data, including sensitive information, on pharmacy computerised data record system
