Job description: Social care opportunity for a Personal Assistant to assist a young family. Listed below are details of the job and what tasks are involved. It is essential to refer to these when submitting an application and advise of the days/hours you are available.
Job purpose: Cleaning the family home, occasionally assisting with food shopping and any other duties that cannot be carried out by the employer at the time.
The employer lives with Fibromyalgia, which is a widespread nerve pain, along with chronic fatigue, and hyper mobility. Every day is different, which affects her ability to carry out domestic tasks for her family.Location: Downham Market
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Primarily domestic tasks which require heavier lifting including cleaning, hoovering, washing, dishwasher and other domestic tasks that are necessary at the time.
2. Occasionally assisting with food shopping.
3. Garden maintenance such as mowing.
Person Specification:
Listed below are the skills, competencies and qualities that are essential and desirable for the post. Assessment of these, both on application and at the interview, will be the main factor in determining your success.
Essential:
* Able to use stairs.
* Confident with large dogs (Huskey & rescue dog).
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Use of own vehicle for work purposes - Willing to travel with young baby/toddler.
* Able to listen and follow instructions.
* Adaptable and flexible.
* Friendly and understanding.
Desirable:
* Cleaning experience.
Summary Terms and Conditions:
* The rate of pay for this position is £11.68 p/h.
* Hours and times of work as follows: Minimum 6 hours per week but more hours may be available. Days and times to be discussed at interview.
* Completion of a satisfactory probation period of 6 months.
* Annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
* If this job requires Manual Handling, Handling of Hazardous Chemicals and/or Food Handling you will be required undertake annual training.
* Please note last minute cancellations to work may occur due to the employer's health.
The post is subject to the following:
* Satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
* Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
