Role: Senior electronics engineer
Location: Aberdeen

We are looking to hire an experienced Senior Electronics Design Engineer,
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design new products from concept to in-field introduction, with an emphasis on simplicity, reliability and manufacturability
2. Develop circuit schematics, simulations and PCB layouts
3. Microcontroller and DSP programming
4. Provide engineering support for the existing product range
5. Obtain ATEX/IECEX/UXEx accreditation of relevant products
6. Assess technical queries and provide engineering solutions across a diverse product portfolio
7. Participate in the company's Innovation Ideas capture and Ideation process
8. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure the best technical solution is provided in all instances
9. Create and maintain engineering documentation including specifications, proposals, test plans, reports and manuals
10. Ensure engineering solutions are delivered on time and within budget
11. Take ownership and accountability of tasks, reporting progress to the manager
12. Document and report any issues, recommending improvements to existing products
13. Comply with company and departmental QA & HSE procedures and processes
Skills & Experience :
14. Analog electronics design and development experience
15. Digital Signal Processing design and development experience
16. Extensive experience with high-level development languages, preferably C++ and C
17. Microcontroller C and assembly programming
18. Operating systems: Windows
19. Understanding of sensors, data gathering and distribution of data to various sources
20. Wireless comms (Bluetooth, LoRaWAN, IoT, LTE)
21. Wired comms (Ethernet, USB, RS485, MODBUS, HARD, I2C)
22. Strong IT skills
23. Subsea or Pipeline electronic systems development (advantageous)
24. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
25. Capability and confidence to challenge the norm
26. Analytical and logical problem-solving skills
27. Ability to work well as part of a team and autonomously
28. Technical, practical and scientific knowledge and ability
Qualifications:
29. Electronic/Electrical engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
30. 10+ years of professional experience in electronics and firmware development
31. Experience in Research & Development environment (desirable.)
32. Provide engineering support for the existing product range
