AI Engineer to join a leading global alternative investment fund with a focus on AI and Data. You will be part of an exciting journey associated with a start-up within a global fund. As the AI Engineer, part of this role will be to help build the culture and environment as our client expands their footprint, working with LLM, AI and theoretical machine learning fundamentals.

What You Will Be Doing
* With AI at your core – Actively engage with a wide range of business functions to leverage your deep machine learning knowledge and exposure
* Design and delivery of systems and machine learning models that solve commercially impactful real world problems

What You Will Need to Succeed in This Role
* Essential - Demonstration of academic excellence via a bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, a hard science, or a related field, ideally from a UK Russell Group university or top tier university in Spain or Europe
* Deep understanding of theoretical machine learning fundamentals as well as practical knowledge of how to build real world ML systems
* Direct experience leveraging LLMs in production, and an in depth understanding of prompt design, agentic workflows, eval harnesses, retrieval pipelines, etc.
* Exposure to LLM inference stack fundamentals such as KV Caching, Speculative Decoding, Parallel Decoding, and test-time compute ideas.
* Excellent programming, technology, and system design skills, including an in-depth understanding of and recent programming experience with Python and ideally one of C++, Java, or .Net
* Experience working with SQL databases
* Azure or AWS experience
* An entrepreneurial nature, willing to take ownership and run towards problems and someone who thrives on innovation
* The ability to own all aspects of an AI project from start to finish
* Financial Services experience a bonus, but is not essential
