The opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Qualified Accountant to join our team. This role focuses on delivering accurate financial reporting, governance, and supporting FCA compliance, especially regarding CASS5 procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Supporting the development and implementation of our risk and controls framework to identify, manage, and mitigate risks effectively.
2. Assisting with regulator requests, audits, and due diligence processes.
3. Managing risk events and incidents, ensuring timely resolution of remedial actions.
The ideal candidate will excel in data consolidation, trend analysis, and performance monitoring. They will foster a learning environment for colleagues and apprentices, demonstrating strong organizational skills and a proactive attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
1. CASS5 Governance: Ensure compliance with FCA CASS5 rules, provide guidance to internal teams, and review processes for regulatory adherence.
2. Statistical Reporting and Data Consolidation: Consolidate data from multiple systems, analyze trends, and produce insightful reports for decision-makers.
3. FCA Reporting: Lead the preparation and submission of FCA reports, improving reporting efficiencies.
4. Team Support and Development: Support teams in meeting regulatory and financial goals, mentor apprentices, and develop learning pathways.
5. Performance Monitoring: Conduct internal audits and testing, monitor performance metrics, and collaborate on workflow improvements.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
* Experience with CASS5 governance and FCA reporting.
* Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL).
* Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff and apprentices.
* Knowledge of financial consolidation practices and broader regulatory frameworks.
