Zest Education is recruiting a full time Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in Reception at a supportive primary school in Tamworth starting after Easter. This is a rewarding role for someone patient, nurturing, and passionate about supporting children with SEND, particularly pre-verbal communication needs.
You will provide consistent 1:1 support to help the child feel safe, supported, and engaged throughout the school day, working closely with the class teacher and SEN team.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 support for a pre-verbal child in Reception
Support communication, engagement, and emotional regulation
Use a calm, patient, and nurturing approach
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
Support learning through play-based and structured activities
Help implement individual support strategies and routines
Requirements
Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or working with young children
Ideally a L3 or equivalent in childcare
Experience supporting SEND and/or pre-verbal children (highly desirable) Ability to commit to full-time hours, Monday–Friday
