HR Assistant (J19369) Newry, Northern Ireland

Salary: GBP25000 - GBP30000 per annum

HR Assistant (Temporary Maternity Cover – 12 Months)

Location: Newry
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
Working Pattern: 4-Day Working Week (choice of Tuesday or Wednesday off)
Hours: 8:00am – 5:30pm

The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Assistant to join a busy and supportive HR team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

The successful candidate will support the HR Manager across a range of HR activities, helping to deliver an efficient and professional HR service while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the implementation and review of HR policies and procedures.
* Provide HR support throughout the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, attendance management, performance management and employee engagement.
* Maintain accurate HR records, databases and personnel files.
* Ensure confidentiality and GDPR compliance at all times.
* Assist with payroll administration and employee timekeeping records.
* Support the handling of employee queries, disciplinary matters and grievances.
* Coordinate training and development activities.
* Assist with HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Build positive working relationships across the business.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in an HR Assistant or HR Support role.
* Strong knowledge of employment legislation.
* Excellent administration, organisation and communication skills.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
* Ability to build effective working relationships across all levels.
* Flexibility to travel between company locations when required.
* CIPD qualified or currently working towards a CIPD qualification.
