This post is for a Resident Clinical Fellow in General Surgery. It is a whole‑time, 6‑month fixed‑term contract focusing on bariatric surgery, joining a dynamic multidisciplinary acute care team within Mersey and West Lancashire NHS Trust.
Responsibilities
* Hot Emergency Outpatient Clinics and Emergency Case Operating Sessions
* Clinical Administration and Ward Rounds
* Outpatient clinics on both sites
* Clinical research activity
* Elective Surgery
* Daytime, weekday and weekend cover of emergency on‑call services
* Rota‑d weekend ward rounds
* Support UGI surgical teams by assisting consultants with emergency demand, general clinics, theatre sessions and ward rounds – including time allocated for research, study and administration
Qualifications
* Full registration with the GMC
* Existing right to work in the UK at the time of application
* Ability to work flexibly on the on‑call rota (1 in 11 rotation) and accept separate on‑call contract in addition to the full‑time contract
