Part-time position at Eaglestone Health Centre, Hospital Campus Milton Keynes - 4 days per week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (08:45 - 16:45)

Main duties of the job
To provide comprehensive reception duties as part of a frontline team delivering a high-quality service to patients and staff. The postholder will liaise extensively with patients and staff, making all appointments for patients.
Responsibilities also include accurate financial transactions such as banking, reconciliation, and debt collection. The postholder may be required to cover other sites across the dental service.

Following training, the postholder will be competent across all reception sites and procedures.
* Deal with all enquiries professionally and empathetically via telephone, face-to-face, or written contact.
* Maintain calm and effective communication, especially in potentially inflammatory situations, to gather accurate information and de-escalate issues.
* Use advanced communication skills when dealing with patients with additional needs, dental phobia, or challenging behaviour.
* Liaise with reception colleagues across all dental sites to ensure timely access for patients.
* Receive patients and prepare or advise them for their clinical care.
Person specification
Qualifications
Essential: Minimum of 3 GCSEs or equivalent.
Desirable: Relevant NVQs (e.g., Customer Care or Administration), training in word processing and keyboard skills.
Experience
Essential: Experience with keyboard and computerised systems, reception or customer service roles, managing appointments, handling cash and banking, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Desirable: NHS experience, working with dental or medical teams, familiarity with dental software systems (preferably R4).
Personal Disposition
Essential: Willingness to travel, adaptable, respectful of colleagues and service users, and a car driver with access to a vehicle.
Knowledge
Essential: Understanding and promotion of equality, diversity, and human rights.
Key Skills/Abilities
Essential: Demonstrable computer skills, clear communication with diverse groups.
