Learning Support Mentor - Health & Personal Care (Fixed term)
We are seeking caring, supportive, team-players to join our Supported Learning team at Cambridge Regional College. This part-time (15 hours), term-time-only role is fixed term until June 2026. Salary information indicates a salary of £8,285 per annum (equivalent to a full-time, full-year salary of £23,519 per annum), with various staff benefits.
Responsibilities
* Support students with a range of learning difficulties and other disabilities.
* Enable reasonable adjustments to help students engage.
* Mentor students and encourage them to remain on task.
* Model skills so that students can understand the tasks.
* Assist with Personal Care and health needs.
* Promote the college values.
What we are looking for in our ideal candidate
* GCSE English grade C / 4 or equivalent, or willingness to gain this qualification
* Happy to undergo relevant training
* Enjoy working across college faculties and supporting students on a variety of courses
* Recent and demonstrable experience of working with people with special educational needs (desirable, but not essential)
* A positive 'can do' attitude, sensitivity to others' needs, patient and reliable
* A team player yet able to work independently
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

About our Department and the role: CRC is a really exciting place to work. The Supported Learning Department educates and cares for our most vulnerable students. Roles involve supporting students in a range of subjects to promote confidence, independence, employability and self-reliance. You could work with students in our college garden, with small animals, or in activities such as art, drama, music, woodwork, cooking, Maths and English.
We are ideally seeking candidates who have experience of working in a special education setting or who may want to move from primary education or social care. A knowledge of supporting students at Entry level and gathering evidence via RARPA would be advantageous.
