Our Logistics warehouse is based in Steeton, which is 5 miles south-east of Skipton, 3 miles north-west of Keighley and has free car parking and is easily accessible via rail or bus links.
Job Overview:
Are you someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where no 2 days are the same? Be at the heart of our operations—where products move, teamwork matters, and every role plays a crucial part in keeping things running smoothly. In this role you will oversee all warehouse activities in your area including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods, alternating on the below shifts each week.
This is a full time, permanent role working either a 0900 - 1700 or 1200 - 2000 shift pattern (alternating each week).
Key Responsibilities:
•Manage a team of warehouse colleagues, providing guidance, training & development and support to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
•Manage, measure and review the performance of colleagues to ensure consistency and fairness in line with company standards and policies.
•Lead operational teams to follow departmental processes and procedures to ensure customer orders are despatched in a timely manner.
•Effectively follow all H&S procedures to ensure accidents are non-existent or minimal and the correct procedure for reporting accidents is followed.
•Update and report on the financial monitor daily to enable the management team to report on costs versus headcount.
•Encourage and manage the focus on quality control standards while driving operational performance, ensuring that costs are kept within the agreed budget levels on a daily and weekly basis.
•Identify, propose and recommend areas for improvement in the use of equipment, or processes to maintain effective and efficient working practices.
•Ensuring there is a people focused culture cascaded down through direct reports which includes conducting briefings, 1:1s, appraisals, return to works, attendance review & disciplinary meetings and supporting with recruitment.
Skills and Experience:
Experience of leadership in a high volume fast paced warehouse environment, along with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. A knowledge of distribution systems and processes is essential as is being results driven and confident using your initiative.
