A fantastic, new opportunity has arisen to become a part of our Multiple Disadvantage Outreach Team based in Coventry as an O utreach W orker, engaging with rough sleepers with the aim of moving them into more settle d lifestyles. You will focus on engaging with people who have a history of rough sleeping and substance misuse. You will have some experience of engaging with individuals with multiple and/or complex needs and demonstrate a determined approach to finding solutions. We hope this role will be for you. Where: Coventry Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week Full Time Salary : £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 per year dependant on experience Contract Type: Permanent * Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. About the role: Going on outreach shifts; these include in all weathers on early mornings, nights, and weekends. Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral Engaging with individuals experiencing rough sleeping and people involved in street-based activity. Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community Promoting carer, service user and community involvement Working with partner agencies to support people using services to access accommodation, physical and mental health services, substance use services, benefits etc. Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination About you: Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field Experience of communicating effectively with people requiring support Experience of engaging and providing meaningful support to individuals with severe and multiple unmet needs. Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills Knowledge of at least one of the following issues around homelessness; the benefits system, substance use, mental or physical health, the criminal justice system, housing (Social and/or Private Rented). Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders Some experience of supporting people who may be affected by homelessness,mental health and substance use. Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others What we will give to you: 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays. Additionally, you'll receive one extra day of annual leave for each year of service during your first five years, therefore you will enjoy 30 days of leave after five years with us.
