This job has been advertised as two days but with the possibility of going to three days.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, running Sage payroll & Sage 50 accounts, VAT return, bank reconciliation, credit control and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Duties
* Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including data entry and reconciliation of financial transactions
* Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable
* Prepare and process invoices using accounting software such as Sage.
* Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review
* Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and organisational policies
* Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow
* Support year-end audit preparations and liaise with external auditors as required
* Organise and file financial documentation systematically for easy retrieval
* Assist with payroll processing and related administrative tasks
Experience
* Proven experience as an Accountant or Bookkeeper, preferably within a similar industry setting
* Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage or equivalent systems
* Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general ledger management
* Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards in the UK
* Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
* Ability to work independently whilst managing multiple priorities effectively
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
