Overview
GE Wales Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeship is a three-year programme that provides all the skills needed to kickstart a career in aerospace. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience repairing and overhauling gas turbine engines, with specialisations in mechanical, machining or electrical disciplines. The programme includes rotations through repair, overhaul and test areas and uses cutting-edge technology and innovative materials in a live production environment.

The Programme
The GE Wales Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeship is an exciting three-year programme that provides all the skills an individual needs to start a career in aerospace. The programme includes practical skills development and college qualifications alongside on-site experience.
Year-by-Year Breakdown
* Year 1: Full-Time at Coleg y Cymoedd, working towards a Level 3 BTEC qualification. Extra-curricular activities to grow key skills such as teamwork, collaboration, and self-confidence.
* Year 2: One day per week at Coleg y Cymoedd completing the Level 3 BTEC; four days per week on site working on a high-profile engineering project and starting work on a Level 3 NVQ; rotations through repair, overhaul and test areas incorporating Lean methodology.
* Year 3: Full-time work within the business with a rotation programme and completion of Level 3 NVQ with work-based learning and assessment.
In addition, you'll have the chance to participate in enrichment activities and soft skills training to help you grow and reach your potential.
Qualifications / Requirements
Please ensure you have achieved or are predicted to achieve these grades or above as the minimum requirements to join this apprenticeship. A successful candidate would have, or be expected to achieve by the start of the apprenticeship:
* A minimum of 5 GCSEs (A*–C or 9–4), including Mathematics, English Language, and Science.
* Equivalent qualifications or experience may be considered.
Desired Characteristics
* A positive attitude with an eagerness to learn and a flexible approach to working.
* Ability to problem solve, prioritise and multi-task.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within diverse teams.
* Good manual dexterity.
* Any experience in STEM or industry would be advantageous.

Security Clearance
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained. If BPSS clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role.
