The team is now recruiting for a Principal Design Engineer with a strong background in high-temperature chemical reactor design. This is a senior-level opportunity within a multidisciplinary team driving the next generation of clean energy solutions. You’ll take ownership of component and system design, helping bring cutting-edge technology from concept to real-world application. Key Responsibilities Generate and manage design requirements, identifying potential technical risks early. Deliver robust mechanical and reactor system designs from concept through to proof-of-principle. Produce high-quality 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings for components, assemblies, test rigs, and fixtures. Lead design reviews and oversee engineering change management processes. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to colleagues, contributing to team development. Act as a subject matter expert in design, development, materials, manufacturing methods, and testing. Drive innovation and contribute to the development of valuable intellectual property. Ensure design compliance with international standards and internal best practices. Lead and coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure timely project delivery. Requirements: You’ll bring a blend of technical leadership, hands-on design expertise, and a passion for clean energy technology. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement are core to success. Degree-level qualification in mechanical, chemical, or a related engineering discipline. Significant experience in mechanical and/or reactor systems design. Strong capability with 3D CAD (e.g. SolidWorks, Creo) and engineering drawing creation. Confident in applying design fundamentals through hand calculations and FE analysis. Familiar with GD&T, failure modes, and root cause analysis. Strong understanding of design verification and relevant test methods. Able to work independently, plan effectively, and meet project deadlines. Effective communicator with excellent documentation and collaboration skills. Desirable: Experience in high-temperature chemical reactor or heat exchanger design. Familiarity with ANSYS Workbench and simulation techniques. Exposure to thermodynamics, CFD, electronics, or materials science. Understanding of robust design, statistical methods, and systems engineering. Practical prototyping or mechanical assembly experience
