Job Description:
Do you want to help shape the future of Amazon Logistics' sustainable operations in UK/IRE?
The Transport Strategy and Policy (TSP) team drives sustainable logistics solutions through partnerships with city and government transportation authorities. TSP serves as a liaison between AMZL operations and local governments to develop policies that optimize our delivery networks while meeting community needs. Our team's expertise bridges the gap between Amazon's operational requirements and municipal transportation guidelines, resulting in improved customer service and efficient delivery systems. TSP aims to reduce Amazon’s reliance on ICE vehicular transportation in congested urban areas by identifying the best modes for last mile deliveries, such as electric fleets, scalable and dynamic micro-mobility solutions, and innovations like Park and Walk.
Additionally, the post-holder will deliver live policy solutions for AMZL operations across UK/IRE, influencing and winning over local government stakeholders to improve AMZL’s local landscape, generate win-win outcomes, and ensure operational continuity. This includes managing complex escalations related to external operational requests, such as local government concerns or complaints.
Finally, this role requires the post-holder to be an expert in local transport, traffic, and vehicle regulations in their regions. The candidate will support and influence a diverse range of on-road operations to ensure conformity with local and national transport policies and strategies. This involves tracking emerging mobility and regulatory trends, leveraging networks, conducting deep dives, and articulating emerging themes, risks, and opportunities to the business, supporting planning processes.
Key job responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain relationships with local and national transport experts, academia, and urban mobility stakeholders.
2. Ensure Amazon Logistics contributes positively to urban transformation by helping cities meet their transport objectives aligned with operational needs.
3. Lead efforts across Amazon Logistics as traffic and transportation regulation experts.
4. Provide strategic transport and policy expertise to maximize project quality and promote positive media coverage.
5. Drive emerging mobility innovations within Amazon Logistics.
6. Act as a liaison for external organizations to bring opportunities to Amazon Logistics and incubate transport innovations.
7. This role requires approximately 10-20% travel (once a week/fortnight), and candidates must be willing to travel.
