Overview

:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Catering Team Leader on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Follow procedures for preparing the dining room, serving food and Nutrition product labelling.
2. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and compliance with allergen policies.
3. Accurately complete due diligence records and take corrective actions for food safety.
4. Adhere to health & safety protocols, cleaning schedules and monitor compliance with hygiene and uniform standards.
5. Ensure meal choices are well stocked, presented and served according to company guidelines, and address allergen queries and customer concerns.
6. Work with chefs and managers to maintain standards in quality, quantity, presentation and service, overseeing all dining aspects from preparation to clean down.
7. Maintain dining room presentation, ensure correct notices are displayed and use feedback to continuously improve service and respond to special requests.
8. Lead, motivate and inspire your team to deliver an excellent guest experience, acting as a role model by demonstrating the highest standards of behaviour.
9. Deliver practical and engaging training to colleagues ensuring they are well-equipped to perform their roles.
10. Monitor workplace performance, providing colleagues with regular 1:1 feedback and using coaching and mentoring to support development and career progression.
11. Promote health, wellbeing and personal development principles, enabling your team to reach their full potential.
12. Use people management processes to address performance and conduct concerns, improving standards.
13. Complete all administrative tasks involved in being a people manager from colleague welcome to departure. This includes tasks such as right to work checks, keeping colleague records up to date (appraisals, absence related paperwork, employee relations paperwork and qualifications) and completing the relevant departure checks.
14. Plan and manage stock ordering, rotation and waste management, promptly addressing significant stock issues with managers.
15. Ensure efficient workflows, accurate financial paperwork and the cleanliness and maintenance of dining facilities and equipment.
16. Promote a healthy, safe and environmentally conscious working environment.
17. Liaise with other departments to ensure proper information flow, implement action plans and serve as a positive role model across the centre.
18. Continuously improve catering and management skills through training, regularly review personal objectives, and deputise for the Front of House Manager role where present.
19. Contribute to the daily operations of a residential activity centre, handle customer queries and emergencies, and assist in other departments or centres as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

20. Experience in delivering high levels of customer service.
21. Previous catering / kitchen experience.
22. Experience of leading and managing teams in a team leader or supervisory role.
23. Experience of giving constructive and developmental feedback.
24. GCSE Grade D or equivalent (e.g. Functional Skills Level 1) or above in English, or willing to work towards it.
25. IT literate in a range of MS Office applications (Word, Excel).
26. Ability to lead team and deliver results.
27. A proficient level of English.
28. Manages own time and workload effectively to focus on best value activities.
29. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with others.
30. Delivers an exceptional customer experience.
31. Communicates and presents effectively with passion, energy and enthusiasm.
32. Treats people in a fair, consistent and respectful manner and values diversity.
33. Provides positive and constructive feedback and uses coaching to improve performance.
34. Enhanced DBS check.
35. Desirable:
36. Experience of working with children and young adults.
37. Level 3 award in Leadership and Management.
38. Full UK Driver’s licence.
