Location: Drummie Offices, Golspie
Hours: 35 hours per week
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £35,399 - £48.266 p.a.
Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose : The Building Standards service is responsible for delivering a range of services related to statutory duties under the Building (Scotland) Act 2003; also, that of its verification role, ensuring the health, safety, welfare and convenience of people in and around buildings; to further the conservation of fuel and power; and further the achievement of sustainable development.
The post holder will be familiar with verification duties relating to compliance and reasonable inquiry and will contribute to the development of the Key Performance Outcomes.

Requirements
* Candidates will have graduated from University or College with an Honours Degree in a construction related subject
* Preferably be working within the construction industry; or have demonstrate a knowledge of building with a sound knowledge and understanding of the Building Standards Technical Handbooks
* You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Highland to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
