Your new Organisation is responsible for the management of some 2,600 residential properties across 65 developments throughout England. Your new role
As Building Surveyor, you will have overall responsibility for the maintenance of the buildings and equipment on each of the developments within your geographical ‘patch’.

Your new role
As Building Surveyor, you will oversee maintenance of buildings and equipment across your designated area. Knowledge of lifts, alarms, automatic doors, and related M&E systems is advantageous, especially for retirement developments. You will report to the Technical Director and liaise with Regional Estates Managers and Owners’ Boards on technical issues.
Day-to-day duties include:
1. Undertake new build development inspections/surveys
2. Conduct Condition Surveys
3. Survey Mechanical and Electrical equipment
4. Manage Small Works (reactive maintenance projects)
5. Oversee Major Works across sites/projects
6. Perform Risk assessments and ensure Health and Safety compliance
What you'll need to succeed
Essential Knowledge/Experience
* Extensive knowledge of common faults and repair methods in residential properties, including legal frameworks.
* Knowledge of Leasehold Management and Section 20 notices.
* Understanding of stock condition assessments and maintenance planning.
* At least 3 years' experience supervising maintenance work.
* Ability to write repair and maintenance specifications.
* GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English; HNC/HND in Building.
* Basic technical drawing skills for contractor communication.
* Valid UK driving license.
Desirable Knowledge/Experience
* Knowledge of the Retirement Housing Sector.
* Experience with hand-held maintenance IT equipment.
* Presentation skills for staff and tenants.
* Membership of a professional body such as CIOB.
