About the role:

We’re looking for a multi‑skilled Engineer to take ownership of maintaining and operating all electrical and mechanical systems across Pulsant’s various data centre sites in the South - predominanly in Reading East and Maidenhead, but with flexibility required to cover other Pulsant data centres in the South region in addition when required.

In this varied role, you’ll provide first‑fix support on M&E and minor fabric repairs, oversee and coordinate contractors, and ensure all Health & Safety requirements are met to the highest standard. You’ll deliver small project works both independently and as part of a team, while also offering technical guidance and supervision on larger tasks. With the ability to contribute to reports and audits for the management team, you’ll play a key part in keeping our operation running smoothly, safely, and efficiently.


Key responsibilities:

* Provide Mechanical and Electrical support to both external and internal clients, liaising positively and proactively to resolve issues and exceed their expectations.
* Keep records databases up to date and complete reports and checks in a timely manner.
* Ensure Pulsant buildings are clean, safe, and secure by following safety and security procedures and in line with Pulsant processes, accreditations and standards.
* Maintain a duty of care for everyone on site - immediately report any health and safety concerns, or anything unsafe or potentially dangerous to management and stop the work continuing
* Assist with rack installations and cabling to obtain the maximum cooling efficiencies from the deployment.
* Log all faults and issues within Pulsant platforms and respond to tickets and requests in a professional and timely manner.
* Perform system monitoring, environment monitoring, remote / smart hands activities on behalf of customers, 3rd parties and other Pulsant technical teams as required.
* Carry out PPM tasks in a timely manner ensuring optimal building and facilities integrity, upkeep, maintenance, and aesthetics.
* Stock control of Pulsant assets and store management. Maintain Critical Spares for the Data Centre
* Provide support for all day‑to‑day activities on the site and ensure site security and integrity is maintained at all times across the campus site.
* Follow and adhere to robust access control process and procedures for customers, Pulsant employees and 3rd parties. Observe and assist with the site security enforcement.
* Involvement with regards to testing and handover, and knowledge and understanding of any new infrastructure or hardware / software installed monitoring the facility.


What / who we’re looking for:

* Multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer, with experience working within a critical, industrial or commercial environment.
* Completed electrical apprenticeship or similar - ideally with 18th edition wiring regulations.
* Basic IT skills, Word and Excel.
* Experience in some of the following would be very beneficial - L.V. switching, HVAC Systems, UPS Circuitry, Generators, BMS Systems, Fire Preventative Systems.
