Trust Manager – St Albans

Newstaff Employment is hiring an experienced Trust Manager in St Albans to join a successful and well-respected firm. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a key member of the Trust Team, managing a diverse portfolio of UK resident and charitable trusts while working closely with Directors and Partners.

Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Salary: £55, – £70, per annum + excellent benefits
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (flexi office hours)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage an interesting and varied portfolio of UK resident and charitable trusts, ensuring annual accounts and tax compliance deadlines are met.
2. Review work prepared by team members and support their training and mentoring.
3. Assist with advisory and ad-hoc matters, including high-level taxation and Inheritance Tax planning.
4. Liaise with tax, accounts, and financial planning teams to ensure seamless client service.
5. Monitor budgets, personal chargeability, and raise fee notes as required.
6. Opportunity for development in charitable trusts, probate work, and estate accounts.

Essential Skills & Experience

7. Strong understanding of trusts and trust management.
8. Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork abilities.
9. Flexible, dependable, and confident in taking initiative.
10. Motivated, resilient, and able to build trust quickly with clients and colleagues.
11. Experience with charitable trusts or probate work is advantageous but not essential.

IT Skills

12. Working knowledge of CCH Trust Accounts and CCH Personal Tax is desirable.
13. Familiarity with the CCH Practice Management System is beneficial.

Qualifications

14. Ideally, CTA and/or STEP qualified, or a strong desire to work towards STEP.
15. Alternatively, candidates may be qualified by experience.
