Job Title: Automation Engineer / PCS 7 Engineer (Pharma Projects & MES Integration)
Position Overview
My client is looking for an experienced Siemens PCS 7 Automation Engineer to support pharmaceutical project execution, with a strong focus on PCS 7 delivery and MES interfacing/integration. This is a UK-based, remote role requiring hands-on involvement across the project lifecycle and collaboration with internal stakeholders, vendors, and system integrators.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver automation workstreams on pharmaceutical manufacturing projects from design through commissioning and handover.
* Develop and maintain PCS 7 deliverables (as applicable), such as URS/FDS/SDS, control philosophies, and design documentation.
* Configure and support PCS 7 solutions including control logic, graphics, alarms, and integration points.
* Support MES interfacing activities (e.g., data mapping, tag/parameter alignment, integration testing, and troubleshooting).
* Participate in and support FAT/SAT, site testing, and commissioning activities, ensuring documentation and evidence are completed to a high standard.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams (Automation, IT/OT, Validation, Quality, Manufacturing) to ensure compliant, robust delivery.
* Provide technical input into project planning, scheduling, and risk management, escalating issues where needed.
* Support vendors/system integrators and coordinate technical queries to maintain project momentum.
Requirements
* Strong hands-on experience with Siemens PCS 7 (engineering, troubleshooting, project execution).
* Proven experience delivering pharma / GMP-regulated projects (validation awareness, documentation discipline).
* Experience working with MES interfacing/integration in a manufacturing environment.
* Solid understanding of project lifecycle delivery: From design to build to test commissioning then handover.
* Confident stakeholder management and ability to work independently in a remote setup.
