Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Health, Safety and Quality (HSQ) Advisor to support the HSQES team in providing an efficient and effective service to the business and assist in providing timely health, safety and quality advice and support to the Group.
Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate will either be qualified to NEBOSH Certificate level or NVQ L5 in Occupational Health and Safety or working towards it. The Company will consider entry level applicants wishing to pursue a formal qualification as this position will offer further training, development, and support.
Responsibilities
* Develop knowledge to provide advice to site staff on health and safety issues.
* Learn to conduct site HSQES audits as per programme, report and follow‑up on any actions.
* Manage the HSQ induction process for new starters.
* Liaise with the Facilities Co‑ordinator to ensure H&S compliance at Head Office.
* Compile reports relating to HSQ performance and present findings where required.
* Assist the HSQES Director in maintaining the HSQES Management System to ensure compliance.
* Maintain online records.
* Carry out internal audits.
* Support the HSQES Director and Team in generating material for HSQES campaigns (e.g. newsletters, bulletins).
* Coordinate and collate records to support HSQ KPI submissions.
* Assist the team in preparing responses to enquiries, pre‑qualification questionnaires (PQQs).
* Review and audit on‑line project site files (Fieldview) and report accordingly.
* Undertake other administration duties as directed.
* Help maintain training and competency records.
* Become a competent DSE assessor for the company.
* Assist in the development and delivery of in‑house HSQES training to staff.
* Develop into a ‘super‑user’ of Fieldview HSQES File and aid its use.
* Represent and promote HSQES in meetings, workshops, management reviews and forums internally and externally.
* Complete Accident Investigation training to support company investigations.
* Complete COSHH training and act as focal point for COSHH assessments, ensuring they are maintained on the company’s document control system.
* Apply for AQP / PQP CSCS white card.
Knowledge and Skills Required
* Microsoft Office – Excel (intermediate level), Word and PowerPoint.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience in data entry and maintaining databases / CRM systems.
* Basic HSQ understanding desirable but full training will be given.
Beneficial Skills
* Hold a technical qualification (NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ L5 in Occupational Health and Safety) or working towards it.
* Hold a UK driving licence or be in the process of learning to drive.
The role is offered full‑time (08.30 – 17.30) based from our head office in High Wycombe, with occasional travel to projects in London and the South East.
