Job Title: Sales Assistant – Trade Counter (Builders Merchant)
Location: Crewe & Congleton (Must have own transport)
Hours: Monday to Thursday – 07:00 to 16:00 | Saturday – 08:00 to 12:00
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
About the Role:
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join a well-established Builders Merchant operating across two locations in Crewe and Congleton. This exciting role offers a fantastic opportunity to work within a fast-paced trade environment, assisting both trade and retail customers with their building material needs.
As a Sales Advisor, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service both over the phone and face-to-face at the trade counter. You’ll be responsible for advising on products, processing orders, and ensuring that customers get the materials they need to complete their projects efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide knowledgeable and friendly service to customers on the trade counter and over the phone.
2. Advise customers on a range of construction materials and equipment, ensuring they receive the best solutions for their needs.
3. Process orders and manage customer queries in a timely and professional manner.
4. Support the team in stock management and product displays.
5. Maintain excellent product knowledge and stay up-to-date with new items and stock levels.
Ideal Candidate:
6. Sales experience is essential, preferably in a retail or trade environment.
7. A solid understanding of construction materials and equipment would be an advantage, though full training will be provided.
8. Excellent communication skills – both face-to-face and on the phone.
9. A positive attitude and a proactive approach to customer service.
10. Own transport is required, as the role involves working across two sites in Crewe and Congleton.
