Job Title: Pipe Fitter’s Mate / Welding Support

About the Role
Total Recruit are looking for a hands-on Pipe Fitter’s Mate / Welding Support to assist on our Clients engineering teams on-site. This role is ideal for someone with practical experience in FMCG or CDM environments who can adapt to changing conditions, support welders and fitters efficiently, and help maintain high safety and productivity standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide on-site support to pipe fitters and welders in FMCG/CDM environments
2. Assist in preparing materials, tools, and equipment for welding and pipe fitting activities
3. Adhere strictly to site safety procedures, including Permit to Work systems, LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out), and hot works protocols
4. Adapt to changes in site layouts and support work in dynamic conditions
5. Help maintain project schedules by working efficiently under tight deadlines
6. Support workflow by understanding job sequencing and site productivity demands
7. Work closely with engineering and site teams to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
8. Site experience in FMCG/CDM or industrial environments
9. Previous experience or training in MIG welding, TIG welding, or other welding techniques is highly desirable.
10. Strong understanding of site safety and compliance procedures
11. Ability to adapt to unexpected layout changes and work under pressure
12. Awareness of job sequencing and site productivity requirements
13. Good teamwork and communication skills
14. Previous experience supporting welding and pipe fitting teams
15. Basic understanding of welding, fabrication, or pipework processes
16. CSCS Card
