Essential Job Functions
TPF Platform & Operating System Management
* Lead large‑scale TPF Operating System upgrades (PUTs) across multiple airline TPF complexes, each with unique configurations and operational constraints.
* Manage the evaluation, customization, and deployment of hundreds of IBM APARs per release, impacting thousands of interdependent software components across the TPF stack.
* Oversee continuous IBM software intake and determine applicability, risk, integration approach, and implementation sequencing.
Database & File System Engineering
* Design, maintain, and optimize fixed and pool record structures and TPFDF database software and schemas.
* Plan and execute database expansions, reorganizations, and structural changes to support growth, performance, and resilience.
* Develop database descriptors and tooling to support recoup and recovery operations.
* Support test environment data integrity through PCI‑compliant database cleansing solutions.
* Implement file system monitoring, backup strategies, and recovery processes for production and non‑production environments.
Testing, Implementation & Operational Resilience
* Direct comprehensive testing strategies, including system integration testing, user acceptance testing, performance validation, and fallback validation.
* Execute production implementations with strict availability commitments, including zero downtime for loosely‑coupled complexes and minimal outage windows for uni‑processor systems.
* Develop, validate, and rehearse fallback, recovery, and rollback procedures to ensure rapid service restoration.
Architecture, Consulting & New Initiatives
* Provide architectural consulting for new client pursuits, platform enhancements, and technology modernization initiatives.
* Lead or support data center migration efforts, ensuring platform stability, performance, and compliance.
* Respond to client requests for software designs, system architecture reviews, and feasibility analysis.
Required Expertise
* Deep, hands‑on experience with IBM TPF, TPFDF databases, high‑availability architectures, and airline transaction processing systems.
* Proven ability to manage large‑scale upgrades, performance engineering, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance in 24×7 environments.
* Strong consulting, planning, and cross‑functional leadership skills with the ability to influence clients and internal stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications
* • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
* • Typically, 6+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role
* • Proven experience in infrastructure technology management
* • Proficiencies in technical knowledge and teamwork
* • A continuous learner that stays abreast with industry knowledge and technology
Other Qualifications
* • An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus
* • Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, are a plus
Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job‑related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract‑specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $76,700 - $142,500.
Full‑time hires are eligible to participate in the DXC benefit program.
