Overview
The Derby High School in Bury, Greater Manchester, is seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Speech, Language and Communication). We are looking for someone with the relevant qualifications, skills and experience who has a passion and commitment to improving the Speech, Language and Communication outcomes of students. This is an exciting new role and, working under the direction of the Assistant Headteacher SEND, the post-holder will have the opportunity to make a significant difference to the success of students at The Derby High School.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver work for small groups of students.
* Run interventions for Speech, Language and Communication.
* Work with parents and carers to provide guidance for speech, language and communication strategies.
* Support students with speech, language and communication related barriers to learning.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience of working with students who have speech, language and communication related barriers to learning.
* Experience of working with students in a school environment (ideally Primary or Secondary sectors).
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently with initiative and to build strong relationships.
* Strong relationship-building skills, flexibility and adaptability.
