Home-Start Caithness is a vibrant community charity making a big impact on families in the local area.
Our trained volunteers and staff help families with young children through challenging times.
The parents we support are often overwhelmed and may be experiencing challenges in their everyday lives such as with loneliness and isolation, poor mental health, illness, disability, multiple birth, poverty, domestic abuse, separation, or trauma.
We provide both 1:1 (in person and online if preferred) support to families in their home and community, and groups if more suitable.
We are now looking to welcome a new Family Support Worker to our Caithness Team who are based in our wick family hub.
The successful candidate will provide tailored support to families in their own homes, as well as supporting volunteers to work alongside families.
The position involves supporting parents with a wide range of parenting needs.
This can include practical help such as accompanying them to shopping trips, GP appointments, or attending groups with their children as well as offering emotional support, especially around the challenges that come with parenting, particularly when a new baby arrives.
The role will be based across various areas of Caithness, and while travel is required, expenses will be covered. A full driving licence is essential.
You will receive full training and ongoing support, and we will also be running different groups in different areas of Caithness, which could be a great opportunity to shape new initiatives.
The hours are fixed, with no evening or weekend work – making it a family-friendly position.

Pay: From £15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 36 per week
