About the role
We are seeking to appoint a Senior Business Support Officer providing support to the Executive Dean's Office. The post holder will be an integral part of the Business Support Team in supporting the day‑to‑day operations of the Faculty's departmental structure.
The role holder will be responsible for financial processing and reporting operational processes within the School, as well as administrating a broad range of support in HR, estates, finance and resources issues relevant to academic and professional services staff.
This is a full‑time role (35 hours per week) with an indefinite contract. The position is hybrid, with opportunities to work from home; the postholder will be required to be on campus during event and training days. We will consider this role as a secondment opportunity.
About you
Essential criteria
* Substantial knowledge and experience of a range of business operational activities (including HR, finance and business continuity, health and safety) acquired through relevant support level posts.
* Significant understanding and experience of applying regulations in a large and complex organisation and communicating policies and procedures to colleagues.
* Well‑developed communication and influencing skills.
* Highly proficient level of financial numeracy and experience of data analysis and reporting, with experience of presenting reports for senior management.
* Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple competing priorities and take a proactive approach to complex problem solving.
* Experience working with a diverse range of people, showing tact, diplomacy and confidentiality.
Desirable criteria
* Experience of managing projects and resources.
* Experience of space management including commissioning minor works.
* Experience of HR recruitment processes.
