A proactive Assistant Accountant is needed to join one of the most successful businesses in Devon at their office near Exeter. This is a new position due to business growth and an opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional to join a fast-paced entrepreneurial business where no two days will be the same!
Working as part of a fantastic finance team and working closely with the Financial Controller, you’ll be responsible for:
* Month end duties including journals, prepayments, accruals and deferred income.
* Variance analysis and commentary.
* Balance sheet reconciliations.
* Reconciling supplier and customer accounts.
* Maintaining fixed assets records.
* Management information analysis and control account reconciliations.
* Assisting with the production of management accounts.
* Supporting processes and systems improvement and efficiencies within finance.
* Undertaking projects and assisting with purchase and sales ledgers as needed.
In return, this employer provides a salary of £32,000 - £35,000pa depending on experience plus excellent staff benefits including study support, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, pension, onsite parking, ongoing support and career progression.
Assistant Accountant - The Candidate
* An ambitious self-starter with a desire to work in a growing fast paced business.
* Recent experience including purchase and sales ledgers, reconciliations is essential, experience of some month end duties and financial analysis would be a bonus.
* You’re likely to be studying towards AAT Level 4 or ACCA / CIMA however we’re also keen to hear from all candidates with the relevant experience and a can-do attitude!
* Superb communicator, effective interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport.
* Strong IT skills including Excel (formulas, look ups, etc).

Please note this is an in-office role and due to location candidates will need to drive and have their own transport.
