Job Purpose:
Based within the Commissioning & Placements Group, the Service Organiser will coordinate, manage, and support a range of specialist functions. The post will contribute to commissioning and contract management work across the group, including (but not limited to) children in care and care leaver residential placements, short breaks and respite care, and education placements within the independent specialist schools sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as a central contact point for commissioning referrals.
* Monitor databases, ensuring completeness and accuracy of records.
* Progress chase information from social workers, partner agencies, providers, and families.
* Support preparation of information for quality assurance, audits, and contract reviews.
* Accurately record and administer documentation relating to commissioning and placements.
* Assist with correspondence and reporting to support commissioning, contract management, and assurance processes.
* Provide data analysis on commissioned services, including statutory returns.
* Maintain accurate records across local authority systems (e.g. Capita, Mosaic).
* Keep up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. Children and Families Act, SEN Code of Practice, Short Breaks regulations).
* Draft letters and formal correspondence on behalf of the group.
* Maintain a good working knowledge of service provision across the county.
* Co-ordinate meetings with stakeholders as required.
* Observe safeguarding practices and raise concerns promptly.
* Uphold confidentiality at all times, in line with data protection requirements.
* Contribute to service development and efficiencies where appropriate.
Key Accountabilities:
* Updating and monitoring Commissioning & Placement Group databases.
* Progress chasing to ensure timely information for commissioning and contract management.
* Documenting and escalating safeguarding concerns where identified.
* Maintaining accurate and timely case records.
* Monitoring departmental progress against agreed timeframes, supported by Commissioning and Contract Officers.
* Compliance with GDPR and local policies.
Essential Requirements:
* Eligible to work in the UK.
* Criminal Convictions Declaration.
* Confidentiality Agreement (upon offer).
* Minimum 2 years' references/work history.
* Strong administrative and organisational skills, with experience handling sensitive information.
* Ability to analyse and present data clearly.
* Good knowledge of legislation relevant to commissioning and placements.
* Strong written communication skills, including drafting formal correspondence.
* Ability to work independently, manage workload, and meet deadlines.
* Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities.

Pay: From £13.90 per hour
