Summary Are you passionate about using data and evidence to strengthen climate action? Join Climate Group as our Evidence and Insights Manager for the Under2 Coalition, supporting applied data analysis, evidence-based decision making and accountability systems that advance subnational climate action worldwide. ​ In this role, you’ll analyse climate data, develop practical insights and work with colleagues to translate evidence into momentum through funding proposals, partner engagement and stronger communications. Working with state and regional governments, technical partners and internal teams, you will help ensure subnational climate action is measurable, transparent and credible. ​ Reporting to the Director of Under2 Coalition and Subnational Governments, you'll collaborate with a dynamic, mission-driven team and global partners to help scale credible climate action, unlock investment, and influence international climate standards. If you enjoy working with data, collaborating with diverse partners and turning analysis into real-world impact, this is an opportunity to contribute to one of the world’s leading subnational climate initiatives. ​ ​ About the role As the Evidence and Insights Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering the Under2 Coalition’s data, evidence and accountability impact. You’ll support applied data analysis, contribute to subnational accountability frameworks and help ensure evidence is effectively integrated across our activities. ​ You’ll work closely with the Under2 Coalition governments, technical partners and internal teams to improve data quality, develop insights and produce evidence-based outputs to support programmatic objective and needs.The role combines data analysis, writing and stakeholder engagement towards demonstrating subnational climate action and impact. ​ ​ This role is key to advancing Climate Group’s mission to accelerate the transition to a net zero, sustainable future by ensuring subnational climate action is credible, impactful, and well-supported. You’ll collaborate with global partners, policymakers, and funders to build knowledge, enhance governance, and unlock new funding opportunities that drive real-world climate solutions. Key responsibilities will include: Applied data and evidence including conducting analysis on subnational climate action data, tracking commitments, targets, priorities and progress across the Under2 Coalition. Generate practical insights that support programmatic delivery, partner engagement and reporting. Support the delivery and ongoing development of the Under2 Coalition’s accountability work, ensuring robust data systems and analysis of member governments’ climate action. Contribute to the production, analysis, and communication of subnational climate data, using insights to influence policy, funding, and advocacy outcomes. Manage relationships with state and regional governments, ensuring members have the tools, capacity, and support to meet international climate standards. Work with the Communications colleagues to develop data-informed stories, case studies, briefings, reports and visualisations that showcase subnational climate leadership and impact. Support peer-learning exchanges, workshops, and training sessions for government officials and partners. Support donor and funder engagement for the programme, including proposal development, reporting, and relationship management. Manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure high-quality outputs that meet contractual and strategic objectives. Contribute to Climate Group and the Under2 Coalition’s presence at high-profile global events, including UNFCCC COPs, partner summits, and international forums. Contribute to cross-organisational priorities, fostering collaboration between Climate Group’s regional and thematic teams. ​ As a mission-driven organisation, we may ask colleagues to take on temporary assignments or secondments in a different team to support organisational priorities. We see these as opportunities for development and internal mobility, managed transparently and with appropriate support. ​ ​ About you ​ We value strengths and a passion for learning – if you meet most of the criteria below, we encourage you to apply. ​ Essential ​ ​ Experience applying data analysis or research in climate, sustainability, public policy or a related field. ​ ​ ​ Ability to work with quantitative and/or qualitative datasets and generate clear, practical insights. ​ Ability to translate technical information into accessible written or visual outputs for non-technical audiences. ​ Knowledge of climate policy, governance or sustainability frameworks. ​ Experience working with external stakeholders such as governments, public sector bodies, technical partners or funders. ​ Strong written and verbal communication skills, including producing reports, briefings or presentations. Ability to manage own workstreams, timelines and competing priorities effectively ​ Desirable ​ Familiarity with global climate initiatives and frameworks such as Integrity Matters, Race to Zero, UNFCCC processes (e.g. NAZCA), or GHG Protocol standards. Experience supporting monitoring or reporting processes for programmes. Experience contributing data or evidence to funding proposals or donor reporting. The salary offered is £36,420 to £38,559 per annum, based on experience. ​ Many of our people work flexibly in different ways, including part-time.
