Predominantly operating in the residential and commercial sectors, we are seeking a passionate Structural Engineer to join our team.
Main Roles & Duties
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, analysis, and delivery of a wide range of structural projects across the Residential and Commercial sectors. You’ll work closely with Architects, Contractors, and Clients, contributing to projects from concept through to completion.
* Prepare structural designs and calculations for residential and commercial buildings.
* Undertake structural analysis using industry-standard software (e.g., Tekla, TEDDS, etc.).
* Produce detailed drawings and specifications in collaboration with CAD/Revit technicians.
* Conduct site visits, inspections, and structural assessments.
* Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, and Building Regulations.
* Assist with project management tasks, including scheduling and reporting.
* Mentor junior staff where appropriate.
Experience, Qualifications & Atrributes
* Bachelor’s degree (BEng) or Master’s degree (MEng) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
* Minimum of 5 years' UK-based experience in structural engineering, with a focus on both Residential and Commercial projects.
* Chartered or working towards Chartership with IStructE (preferred but not essential).
* Proficient in structural analysis and design software.
* Strong understanding of UK building regulations, codes of practice, and construction methods.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
Job Particulars & Benefits
· Full-time, permanent role. Office based, though hybrid available.
· 8.30am-5.00pm Monday – Friday (1 hour lunch) [flexible]
· 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays, plus Christmas period (as a family focused company you will never have to work Christmas Eve, or the period between Christmas and New Year).
