We require a highly motivated individual to join our team in delivering high quality services to those who access our supported accommodation, as well as oversee the Councils temporary accommodation service. As a Temporary Accommodation Coordinator, you will deliver a proactive approach to a wide customer base, including working together with a range of partner agencies. You will lead a team providing support services to enable our customers to move on to independent housing as well as managing Tamworth’s temporary accommodation service. Key areas of responsibility include - Line management of the supporting housing team, developing innovative approaches to extend the service to all Temporary Accommodation (TA) Day to day management of all Council TA with regard to empty property management and move on of people temporarily placed Review and implementation of improvements to council TA Management of supported housing to develop innovative approaches to housing first, tenancy sustainment and homeless prevention including working with partnership colleagues to develop and manage externally commissioned partners You will be able to analyse data, solve problems and apply creative solutions, new concepts and untried ideas, whilst applying a proactive, problem-solving approach to complex clients and cases. You will be committed to partnership working and also have excellent communication and customer service skills. You will possess the ability to organise your own workload effectively, use your own initiative, work within agreed deadlines and prioritise urgent cases. Your skill set will also include knowledge of homelessness legislation with regard to occupation of temporary accommodation, as well as knowledge of non-secure and/or other relevant licence agreements and housing management procedures with regard to Temporary Accommodation. You will need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for this role. This is a hybrid-working contract; there is a requirement for some of duties to be carried out at home and some on site. Site attendance will constitute more than 40% of available working time.
