Overview
This post is to work as a member of the Breast Imaging Department at The Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust, rated as Outstanding by the CQC. This post forms part of a sustained development plan in Breast imaging to meet rising demand. The successful candidate will join a cohesive breast imaging team in a dedicated breast unit for symptomatic and screening services based at our Mermaid Centre – an outpatient unit dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease.
Responsibilities
* Delivering screening and symptomatic breast imaging services, including interpretation of screening mammograms.
* New patient symptomatic clinics (including clinical and imaging assessment).
* Screening assessment clinics.
* Image‑guided intervention (predominantly ultrasound and stereotactic guided core biopsy).
* Undertaking clinical examinations and formulating diagnostic pathway plans.
* Participating in MDT meetings.
* Optimising patient management.
* Communicating with the multidisciplinary team.
* Undertaking audit and service improvement projects.
* Collaborating in research.
Qualifications
* GMC registered doctor.
* Completed the RCR/NBIA breast clinician training programme with credentialing, or demonstrate equivalent postgraduate breast imaging qualifications along with relevant breast imaging experience.
