Cover Teacher – mainstream secondary – Bournemouth, Dorset
Start Date: Immediate / January 2026 | Contract Type: Full-Time, Ad-Hoc Basis
Salary: £90 – £140 per day (Depending on Experience)

As a Cover Teacher, you will play a vital role in maintaining learning and progression when the regular class teacher is unavailable. You will supervise lessons, ensure pupils remain engaged, and support them with their learning. This opportunity offers flexibility, variety, and a pathway into a rewarding education career.
Your Responsibilities as a Cover Teacher:
* Deliver pre-prepared lessons and maintain a focused learning environment
* Supervise pupils across different subjects and year groups
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
* Support pupils in staying on task and completing their work
* Adapt to different classroom settings and routines with confidence
* Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and behaviour
Requirements:
* QTS, ECT status, or overseas teaching qualifications are advantageous but not essential
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage classrooms effectively and encourage positive behaviour
* A flexible, adaptable, and proactive attitude
* Ideal for aspiring teachers, university students, or those seeking flexible work in education
* Enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply via GSL Education
