Forklift and Warehouse Operative

Our client based in Basildon is seeking a dedicated and skilled Warehouse Operative and Forklift driver to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations and a strong understanding of inventory management and distribution processes. This role is essential for maintaining the efficiency of our warehouse operations, ensuring that products are received, stored, and shipped accurately and safely.
Key Responsibilities
Operate various warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes to load and unload materials.
Manage inventory control by accurately tracking stock levels using RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
Perform picking and packing duties to fulfil customer orders efficiently.
Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are handled correctly.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to streamline operations and improve workflow.
Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and report any mechanical issues.
Participate in training programs to enhance skills in heavy equipment operation, materials handling, and packaging.
What you’ll need
Previous warehouse experience is required.
Forklift licence required.
Ability to lift heavy items consistently throughout the shift.
Experience with shipping & receiving processes as well as order fulfilment practices.
A valid Driving Licence as shunting of vehicles is required.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills for effective stocking and inventory control.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being capable of working independently when necessary.
