Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled CAD Technician to join our dynamic design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and models using a variety of CAD software, supporting both civil and construction projects. Duties
* Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models for civil, construction, and engineering projects.
* Utilise software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, SketchUp, NavisWorks, and SolidWorks to produce accurate schematics and design documentation.
* Collaborate with engineers and architects to interpret project requirements and translate them into technical drawings.
* Ensure all designs adhere to relevant industry standards, codes, and client specifications.
* Review and modify existing drawings based on project updates or client feedback.
* Assist in the preparation of construction documents and coordination drawings.
* Maintain organised digital files of all CAD work for easy retrieval and version control.
* Support project teams during the construction phase by providing technical assistance as needed.
Skills
* Proficiency in AutoCAD is desirable; experience with Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, SketchUp, NavisWorks, and SolidWorks is advantageous but not essential.
* Strong understanding of schematic design within the context of civil or construction projects (training will be provided).
* Basic knowledge of CAD standards and technical drawing principles is beneficial.
* Ability to interpret architectural and engineering plans accurately (or willingness to learn).
* Familiarity with construction processes and terminology is helpful but not required.
* Organised with strong attention to detail to ensure precision in all drawings.
* Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Prior experience working on civil or construction projects is welcome but not required, as full on-the-job training and ongoing support will be provided.
