Part of the Culina Group, Great Bear is a flexible, agile ambient 3PL provider. Great Bear is a key player in ambient 3PL with an extensive depot network and state-of-the-art facilities.


Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to establish a new co-pack start-up at our Harworth site. You will contribute to the success of the site and business by managing the day-to-day operations of the Co-Pack Department, ensuring all Service and Cost targets are met in accordance with QA and safety standards. This role requires adaptability and problem-solving skills, as you may oversee multiple contracts simultaneously.

To succeed, you will need to ensure that the construction and delivery of products meet high customer standards.


What will you be doing?

* Motivate, lead, and manage the co-pack operations team effectively.
* Ensure the final product meets client specifications.
* Maximize production efficiency to meet daily and hourly plans.
* Serve as the initial point of contact with the customer.
* Manage operations in line with the Quality Management System, including quality records and checks.
* Utilize onsite Warehouse Management systems effectively.
* Provide capacity plans aligned with customer forecasts, highlighting future resource constraints.
* Ensure products meet agreed quality standards and client specifications.
* Plan labor to maximize efficiency and manage changeovers for production readiness.
* Liaise with other departments and customers regarding production plans.
* Manage labor resources against production requirements.
* Communicate and deliver efficiency targets related to labor and waste.
* Coordinate with internal departments to ensure effective communication of production requirements.
* Utilize systems to drive continuous improvement across the Co-pack operation.
* Ensure compliance with hygienic audits, GMP, and housekeeping standards.
* Maintain up-to-date training and skills matrices; identify and address gaps to support workforce development.
* Communicate plans with customers and site operations to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
* Complete all paperwork and system entries accurately and in accordance with company procedures.


Qualifications

* Flexibility to cover various warehouse areas and high attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Knowledge of on-site systems.
* Ability to meet tight deadlines.
* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Drive and ambition to progress within the company.
* Flexibility in work and shift patterns.
* Leadership skills to manage and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and supervise operations.
* Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
* Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
