We can promise you rewarding work which makes a real impact, the chance to learn from inspiring colleagues from across a growing, global network and opportunities to grow personally and professionally.Our competitive package offers a wide range of benefits and rewards.The positionReporting to the Senior Management Accountant of the business unit, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and delivery of the management accounts of the Asset Management (“AM”) team for Northern Europe. The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, excellent analytical skills and the ability to work to and prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines.This role will work side by side with the Operations and Maintenance (“O&M”) Services Finance team members to ensure that knowledge is shared and processes aligned to meet the needs of the key stakeholders.This role is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis.Accountabilities
1. Preparation of periodic financial reporting and analysis packages for the team on a timely and accurate basis
2. Ensuring that invoicing for AM contracts is correct and up to date
3. Prepare and post month-end journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
4. Error Management activities within the finance system
5. Assist with the year-end audit and liaising with external auditors and tax advisors
6. Assisting with establishing new finance processes in the newly introduced ERP system
7. Supporting regular queries from the Asset Managers
8. Executing additional tasks to meet changing business needs and departmental objectives
Knowledge
9. Strong aptitude for accounting
Skills
10. Strong Microsoft Excel and accountancy system skills
11. Attention to detail
12. Proactive, ‘can do’ attitude, with a focus on continuous improvement of reporting and analysis
13. Good communication skills and the confidence and credibility to communicate to external parties
14. Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and take initiative when needed
15. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
16. Good problem-solving skills
17. Ability to articulate financial information to non-finance specialists
Experience
18. Experience of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounting routines within a commercial organisation
19. Experience of using an ERP system (use of Agresso and IFS a distinct advantage but not essential)
20. Experience in communicating with non-financial internal stakeholders would be beneficial
21. Preparation of statutory financial statements would be a distinct advantage but not essential
Qualifications
22. Studying ACA/ACCA/CIMA
23. AAT qualified/part qualified
24. Degree or the equivalent in a finance discipline
