Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic direction and technical leadership across all MEP engineering services.
* Oversee the design and delivery of MEP systems on a wide range of building projects.
* Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, industry standards and best‑practice guidelines.
* Lead and mentor the team with a firm “inward focus”.
* Undertake technical reviews and sign‑off of design documentation.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and design partners.
* Support the Directors in their efforts to secure new and repeat business opportunities.
* Contribute to the company’s overall strategic planning and direction as a key member of the leadership team.
* Promote a culture of innovation, sustainability and continuous improvement.
* Stay current with technological advances, regulations and industry trends.
Required Skills and Experience
* Degree‑qualified in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Extensive MEP experience within a design environment.
* Experience in sustainable and low‑carbon building design.
* Proven experience in a senior leadership or director‑level role.
* Strong technical knowledge across both mechanical and electrical systems.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and grow high‑performing teams.
* Strong commercial awareness, resource management and project delivery skills.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and client‑facing skills.
* Proficient in the use of relevant design software and BIM workflows.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Chartered Engineer status (CEng) and membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CIBSE, IMechE, IET).
* Business development or client relationship management experience.
* Working knowledge of BREEAM, WELL, NABERS, etc.
