The Role Commissioning Engineer (PLC / Automation) Were looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our clients global field service team based in the East Midlands.
Youll commission, maintain and troubleshoot combustion, fired-equipment and PLC automation systems at sites across the world from power stations and refineries to industrial facilities.
When not travelling, youll be based in the Rutland office supporting engineering documentation, testing and project preparation.
Key Responsibilities Commission and maintain PLC and combustion systems at global client sites
Troubleshoot automation and fired-equipment systems to identify and resolve issues
Conduct fault analysis, retrofit work and installation supervision
Prepare Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) and site visit reports
Start up and support systems such as:
Flare systems and flare gas recovery units
Boiler and process burners
Thermal oxidisers and vapour recovery systems
Pollution and optical control equipment
Deliver classroom and on-site training for client personnel
Identify aftermarket service and spares opportunities during commissioning work
Ensure all work complies with company Health & Safety standards
Travel internationally (up to 200 days per year, typically 12 week assignments)
About You Qualified Engineer or Technician with mechanical, electrical and instrumentation background
Proven experience in PLC programming and automation ideally Siemens and Allen Bradley
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
Experience in combustion, oil & gas or petrochemical industries advantageous
Safety-conscious and comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces and offshore
Strong communication, fault-finding and report-writing skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Flexible and willing to travel extensively worldwide
Full UK driving licence required
