Senior Credit Controller
This role is for a Senior Credit Controller at a top 50 UK law firm. The Senior Credit Controller will report to a seasoned Working Capital Manager and work closely with internal departments and senior stakeholders to ensure bills are paid timely and manage bad debt provisions accordingly.
Responsibilities
* Act as a pivotal point of the Credit Control team, supporting Credit Controllers in reviewing performance, holidays and overtime.
* Review the company Credit Control policies and processes to maintain high-level cash collection.
* Collaborate with partners and heads of departments to build and maintain relationships.
* Monitor the team’s bad debt provisions and report to the Credit Manager as necessary.
* Manage small claims where applicable.
* Assist in providing improvements to departmental systems or reporting outputs when required.
* Set the team’s cash collection targets on a weekly and monthly basis.
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of the own ledger.
* Address client queries promptly and handle them in a timely manner.
Desired Experience and Skills
* Previous experience supervising or managing a team within a professional services environment.
* Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP and PivotTable).
* Experience with Aderant or Elite 3E preferred.
* Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
* Strong communication skills.
* Resilience, innovation, and ability to suggest new ideas.
