Bookkeeper

£28,000 - £32,000 per annum
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will hold an AAT qualification, have strong experience using Sage, Xero, and a solid understanding of UK bookkeeping principles.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate financial records including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments
* Process and manage invoices, bills, and expense tracking
* Carry out bank and supplier reconciliations
* Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports (profit & loss, balance summaries)
* Assist with VAT returns and payroll processing where required
* Ensure compliance with internal processes and UK financial regulations
* Manage workload efficiently and meet reporting deadlines
* Use Sage and Xero as primary accounting platforms
Skills & Qualifications
* AAT qualification (required)
* Strong knowledge of Sage and Xero (required)
* Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
* Solid understanding of UK VAT and bookkeeping practices
* Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Minimum 2+ years bookkeeping experience preferred
* Experience in an accountancy practice or multi-client environment is advantageous
