Review and Treatment Radiographer (Brighton base Rotate to Eastbourne)
Job location: Brighton with rotation to Eastbourne. Band 6, permanent, full-time. Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 per annum pro rata, plus £2,000 Recruitment & Retention payment.
Job summary
This role is divided into review and treatment. Two days are allocated for review and three days for treatment. It is a rotational post requiring travel between Brighton and Eastbourne with working hours from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, including on-call duties and shifts. Timings may be adjusted based on service requirements. The role may include an increase in review days with additional review sites.

Responsibilities
* Use electronic imager to confirm patient positioning at the start of radiotherapy and during treatment as part of QA protocol.
* Calculate accuracy of patient positioning and adjust positioning using clinical judgement, considering tumour contour, progression or regression.
* Refer to CT/planning for re-planning or changes in calculation when discrepancies prevent treatment.
* Assess patient fitness for treatment prior to each session and refer to a clinician if unfit.
* Exercise professional judgement regarding involvement of specialty colleagues, and refer to dietitians and Macmillan teams as needed.
* Arrange for blood/urine sampling and analyse results before treatment; continue or suspend treatment as appropriate and inform the patient if treatment is suspended.
* Communicate changes and information to patients, carers and MDT by face-to-face, telephone, written and electronic means.
Requirements
Essential
* DCR[T] or BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Radiography
* HCPC registered
* Minimum 18 months clinical experience
* Ability to operate large linear accelerators with precision (<1 mm)
* Ability to manage a workload involving distressed cancer patients and relatives
Desirable
* Evidence of CPD
* Relevant short specialist courses in Radiotherapy
