As a Cluster Technical Manager, you will act as the senior technical authority for your site cluster, supporting operational excellence, risk mitigation, and technical leadership. You will mentor teams, ensure standardisation, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Champion a culture of safety across all sites, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation and Approved Codes of Practice.
* Manage and support site‑level technical teams to deliver engineering services, maintenance and infrastructure reliability.
* Apply deep technical expertise in Electrical and Mechanical systems, capacity management and live critical environments.
* Address customer queries, lead technical audits and represent VIRTUS in technical meetings (Commissioning, Factory Acceptance Testing, Root Cause Analysis).
* Identify and implement initiatives to reduce energy consumption and operational costs, monitoring performance metrics and driving continuous improvement.
* Champion a zero‑downtime culture, leading risk mitigation and resilience planning.
* Collaborate with DCO team to plan and execute high‑risk works; provide oversight and technical signoff for high‑risk preventive maintenance and incident resolution.

* Evaluate third‑party vendors, ensuring safe, high‑quality delivery of their work through monitoring, feedback and technical reviews of RAMS and vendor reports.
* Ensure site procedures align with VIRTUS best practices, operational standards and regulatory compliance (ISO, Health & Safety, GDPR).
* Mentor Technical Managers and Technical Shift Managers, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
* Act as technical lead during site incidents, providing real‑time updates and post‑incident analysis, and collaborating on business continuity planning.
* Provide technical oversight for Capex projects, customer installations and site upgrades; manage timelines, budgets and SLA compliance.
* Maintain accurate documentation and support GDPR and quality control standards across the cluster.

Qualifications & Experience
* Electrical or Mechanical qualification, preferably a degree.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in technical operations or engineering leadership.
* Experience managing multi‑site operations highly desirable.
* Health & Safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH) preferred.
* Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) a plus.
* Membership of a professional body such as IEE, IET, Institute of Mechanical Engineers, CIBSE preferred.
