Working Pattern: Term time only, 36 hours per week. Monday – Thursday 8:15‑16:00, Friday 8:15‑15:45

The Link School specialises in supporting students aged 4 to 18 with Speech, Language, and Communication difficulties, including autism spectrum conditions and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA). The school also operates two satellite sites designed to provide a safe, nurturing environment for autistic young people with demand‑avoidant profiles.
Key Responsibilities
* To promote and provide support for all students at The Link School as required.
* To support and work with staff, parents and other agencies to support all students as required.
* To work with students, staff, parents and other agencies from other educational settings as part of The Link School’s outreach & support offer.
* The Student Support Mentor will be responsible for the smooth day‑to‑day running of the school, including supervising students who are not attending their normal lessons for a variety of reasons and being a visible presence around the school to support a positive learning environment.
Key Requirements
* A minimum of GCSE Grade 4 / C or above in English and Mathematics or an equivalent Level 2 Qualification.
* Understanding/knowledge of children with Special Education Needs.
* Ability to adapt activities to learners’ changing motivation and interest levels.
* Understanding of safeguarding practice within a school environment.
* Observe pupil learning behaviour and report observations to the teacher.
